Mrs. Teresa Flint-Borden

Speaker, Author, Design Consultant, & Biblical Storyteller

Teresa Flint-Borden is passionate about serving people – from her immediate family, to God’s family, to needs of the entire human family. She expresses her dedication for relating in holistic ways that interweave creativity, grace, and humor.

As a social advocate, Teresa has received community recognition for her work with unwed mothers, cancer survivors, burn survivors and AIDS research and prevention. In the late 1990s, she embraced the role of advocate to clergy spouses and is becoming known as an expert-practitioner in this arena. She has mentored many women in the judicatory where her husband, Dr. Paul Borden, serves as Executive Minister. He leads churches in his region to adopt systemic change, and Teresa has observed the difficult impact that such dramatic “turnaround church transformation” often has on women in ministry and ministry families.

As her advocacy expanded for those who lead transition out of dysfunctional church systems, Teresa drew more deeply on her own experiences of discipleship, entrepreneurship, and family relationships. This resulted in her book, Women Married to Men in Ministry: Breaking the Sound Barrier Together (Abingdon Press, 2007). Using the book’s aeronautics analogy, moving toward “Mach 10 Ministry” means that women in ministry and/or married to men in ministry are essentially co-pilots; together they must face the critical realities of systemic church change. However, turnaround churches can only be led successfully by those willing to be transformed themselves. So, Teresa brings fresh insight for renewed meaning, purpose, and positive self-development.

Dr. Tim Brown

Director of Leadership Networks

Dr. Tim Brown, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Clovis California, joined the GHC staff for two days of ministry each month as the Director of Leadership Networks. Tim already serves GHC as the coach to our mentors. He also leads his own pastoral cluster.

GHC, which is in the process of acting much more like a Kingdom Network than a denominational region, is faced with helping leaders within the network stay connected to the mission/vision and to each other. Many of our pastors are leading their congregations to conduct kingdom ministry across the globe. Our church planters are scattered across the United States and in other nations. Therefore maintaining meaningful connection with these leaders is becoming more difficult each year. That is why Tim Brown has been asked to assume this role. GHC is blessed with many gifted leaders who are pastoring established congregations and new church plants. GHC wants to assist these leaders in the Kingdom efforts God is calling them to lead.

Dr. Tim Brown is well qualified for this position. God has not only blessed his efforts as one of the most effective leader pastors in GHC but has opened up doors of ministry across denominations and geographical boundaries.  Tim is highly respected by the leaders in GHC and by leaders in many other parts of our nation and around the world. He knows how to network the ministries over which he has a stewardship including ministries in his community, within GHC and beyond our national borders. He also has a desire to help others do the same. It is a pleasure to officially welcome Dr. Tim Brown into this key responsibility.
